Haryana Government is planning to develop three more cities like Gurgaon in proximity to South Delhi. These new cities will come up in range of 60 km from Delhi with the closest being the Jahangirpuri – Badli.
Experts believe that a newly developed place should always enjoy a strategic location which certainly plays a critical role in adding to its popularity. The best example to prove the statement is Gurgaon located in the capital’s proximity. The same factor can be used to explain why Gurgaon is always more preferred over other developing cities such as Faridabad.
Stepping up all efforts to repeat the same success story, the Haryana Government has decided the move. The three new cities would follow the private-public partnership (PPP) model as it was the case with Gurgaon, informs Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda.
Undoubtedly, private builders have contributed a lot in development of Gurgaon. This is another encouraging factor for the Haryana Government to create the towns on line of Gurgaon, Hooda adds.
The three planned cities will be Samalkha on GT Road, Sampla on Delhi Rohtak Road and Jahangirpuri-Badli near Kundli. The development plan for the Sampla and Jahangirpuri-Badli will be finalized by November.
There would be a public notification and the government will start inviting the interests of builders once the plans are out. The notified area for development for Jahangirpuri-Badli would be around 10,000 acres and the other two cities will come up over 5,000 acres each.
