The residents of DLF Phase-I are a worried lot. Reason? Regular dumping of animals’ carcasses by a contractor of the Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG).
The residents have also made a video related to this. They have been complaining about the issue since 2010, but the administration has not taken any action due to lack of proof.
People are now planning to approach the deputy commissioner of MCG.
Small-time contractors hired by the MCG have been dumping dead animals on a plot near the Aravalis. One can spot carcasses of cows, pigs and dogs all over the area.
“Carcasses are being dumped in the area, causing foul smell. We are forced to cover our noses while crossing the stretch,” said Sumeet Goswami of DLF Phase-I and a member of residents’ welfare association.
He added, “We have recorded the activity and hope that action will be taken.”
Another resident, Manju Sharma, said, “Earlier, garbage was dumped here by the municipal authority, but the activity was stopped after we staged a protest. Again, they have started it. We have taken up the issue and the MCG has termed it illegal, but it has not taken any action.”
