Needless to say, all major real estate developers are being bullish on development of Special Economic Zone (SEZs). But, why they gradually turning the proposals into land scam in the name of development? The answer is to secure tax holidays, says Rahul Bajaj, the chairman of the Bajaj Group.

He strongly criticizes the act of companies to acquire the land for the construction at subsidized rates. “They should pay the right value of the land”, adds Bajaj.

Comparing the SEZs in India with that of China makes no sense as the land in China is owned by the State and benefits are directly extended to the people.  As far as India is concerned, they are the builders who are benefited the most.

The development of SEZ will hardly bring any significant growth prospects for both the small and medium entrepreneurs, says independent Rajya Sabha member PC Alexender in a support of Bajaj’s view.

Farmers who are unable to repay their loans and other debts are ready to compromise and give their land in return of compensation offered, says Rajya Sabha member and Founder of Farmers’ Union Shetkari Sangathan Sharad Joshi.
