Taj Hotels, Resorts and Palaces, part of Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL), plans to launch two five star hotels in Bahrain. The company has formed a JV with a real estate developer to work on the two properties. The contract does not involve any capital expenditure from the Taj; however, the hotel group will receive a management fee consisting of a fixed percentage of revenues earned.

The hotels, which will be located at Mahooz and Al Jafoor in Bahrain, are located in residential areas that are in close proximity to entertainment and F&B options. Both properties might be branded under the Taj Exotica umbrella. Other current international Taj projects include properties in China, the Philippines and South Africa.
