DLF, a leading real estate developer in India, is all set to close a deal with Italian luxury brand, Giorgio Armani. According to the deal, the responsibility of marketing the brand in Indian sub-continent falls with the DLF.

Since there is a surge in demand for international brands and consumer expectations seem to have outweighed the supply, DLF is looking to explore the area, says DLF Retail MD Arvind Nair.

The company is in talks with Giorgio Armani and the deal seems to be at a fairly advanced stage. There are a few bottlenecks that both the companies have to overcome.

The first store featuring the creations of famous Giorgio Armani will come up in Delhi at DLF’s Luxury Mall, Emporio, in the first quarter of 2008. The famous Italian Designer is believed to have redefined corporate dressing in the Western world in 1960. The brand enjoys a vast presence in over 35 countries with over 300 stores.

DLF has now become one of the most preferred partners for foreign brands and retail chains. The huge land bank of the DLF is serving as the main factor attracting the likes of foreign companies.
