Ascendas, one of Asia’s largest developers of business properties, said it will clinch deals with government agencies to develop two major IT parks in the state of Maharashtra.

One of its joint venture will be with the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) for the Business Park in Pune and another with the Maharashtra Airport Development Company (MADC) for Business Park in Nagpur.

Both the projects will involve a total investment of Rs 1,625 crore. To be developed in phases, they will be completed over the next 5 to 7 years, depending on the market requirements.

The company boasts to create a total of 7 million square feet of top end IT/ITes space with employment prospects for over 70,000 people once the construction is completed.

Ascendas will bring in the iconic International Tech Park (ITP) branding into Maharashtra. These upcoming IT parks will be named as International Tech Park Pune (ITPP) and International Tech Park Nagpur (ITPN). The development will follow high quality standards attached to similar Ascendas IT Parks in Bangalore, Chennai, and Hyderabad.

The Pune IT Park will come over an area of 25 acres in Phase III of Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park in Hinjewadi whereas the Nagpur project will spread over a 63 acre area site located within the Multi-modal International Hub Airport (MIHAN).
