Attracted by the glitz of real estate business, the state owned Power Company Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam (HVPN) has recently decided to step into a developer’s shoes and construct sky scrapers catering to commercial offices at peripheral locations in Gurgaon.
The Authority has large plans to make real money from construction of these complexes by renting out the commercial and office space to major retail players bullish to establish their presence in cyber city of Gurgaon.
Stepping up the efforts for same, the Board has zeroed in one of its spacious powerhouse sites on Mehrauli-Gurgaon (MG) Road. The site also accommodates the offices of Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN). It will demolish these offices and other structures facing MG Road to execute the planned. There would also be an ample parking space, says VB Chaudhary, says General Manager HPVN.
However, the powerhouse will remain where it is. HPVN has several sites located in different colonies of Gurgaon.
The development has been planned by the HPVN’s managing director PK Das who desires to use land available with the Board in the best possible way. The idea will also generate revenues for the welfare of its employees, says Chaudhary.
