Hilton Hotels Corporation and DLF to revolutionize hospitality concept in India

Hilton International Co., a leading name in hotel industry and Indian real estate giant DLF Ltd. announced a joint venture to bring one of the largest international hotel chains in India over the next seven years.

For Hilton, this is going to be the biggest expansion outside the North American continent. Their hotels will represent Hilton Hotels, Hilton Garden Inn, Homewood Suites by Hilton and Hilton Residences and other renowned brands from Hilton Hotels Corporation’s brand portfolio.

Hilton Corporation that bears a recognized name in the lodging and hospitality industry is to invest as much as $143 million on this project. The initial plan target the cities Chandigarh, Chennai, and Kolkatta, where they intend to set up 20 hotels.

India is fast emerging as an excellent market for hotel development. Hilton aims at injecting its vast experience to bring out vibrant and refreshing ideas contributing to development of the hospitality sector. Also, the opportunities with DLF is a compelling next step to pump in money on the development momentum, says Ian Carter, executive vice president of Hilton Hotels Corporation and CEO of Hilton International Operations.

Indeed, DLF is very excited about the project and look forward to a productive collaboration with Hilton, says Shakti Singh, Director of DLF. Together, they hope to bring top notch hospitality services across the country.
