Mall Mania Grips Jalandhar

The mall mania has reached the lively state of Punjab that is all set to compete with the cyber cities of Noida and Gurgaon. Retail sector in Punjab has just got a push with its first multiplex ‘Sarb’.
Recently, it has another shopping mall called Flamez which made its debut in Ludhiana. The Delhi based Collage Group currently announced its plans to come up with two Semi premium retail malls in Jalandhar and Amritsar with retail space over 1 million sq ft. the fast growing economy of the state is what attracting real estate developers to look forward to the available prospects here.
There is a vast difference in lifestyle of people and they want to get the best value of their money along with a handy shopping experience. With retail consumer market growing in Punjab at 30-35% per annum, it is really a huge opportunity. The Viva College Mall in Jalandhar will be ready by April 2009. It would be spread across 700,000 sq ft and would feature an integrated multiplex and entertainment complex.
There is much hype for Viva Collage Mall in Amritsar as well. Here, it will spread across 600,000 sq ft and would be ready in October 2009. Designed by Zachary Design of the UK and based on the ethnic architectural theme, the mall will be an exclusive add on in the city’s retail sector.
